Dr. Valerie Abbott, M.D. is a board-certified Pediatrics and Internal Medicine specialist serving the Metropolitan Detroit area and surrounding communities.

Dr. Abbott started her private practice in 2001. Dr. Abbott obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Microbiology and certification in Medical Laboratory Technology. She attended Ohio State University for medical school, and completed the combined Pediatric / Internal Medicine residency at Wayne State University – Detroit Medical Center. During her residency she was Co-Chief Resident for the combined Pediatric / Internal Medicine program. Dr. Abbott has lab affiliate hospital privileges at Ascension Providence Hospital and Detroit Medical Center Hospitals.

In addition, Dr. Abbott also holds a volunteer faculty appointment with Wayne State University’s College of Medicine. Professional affiliations include the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics. When not caring for patients, Dr. Abbott enjoys traveling with her husband, walking, jogging, and reading. She is a member of Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit, MI.
